I watched an amazing movie called ‘Detachment’ starring Adrien Brody last night. It’s a small film which didn’t get any fancy marketing money but it’s pure enlightenment as far as enlightenment in films comes.
If you’ve ever been a high school student struggling with depression, with loneliness, with just trying to figure out who the hell you are… then please reblog and watch.
This film deals with those issues better than ANY film I’ve ever seen do.
It’s violent, there’s suicide, there’s rape, there’s kids in school beating each other up, bullying each other, there’s teacher’s on anti-depressants and guidance counsellors breaking down at the complete emotional detachment of the student’s they’re dealing with… basically: there’s HUMANITY.
Seriously, watch this film. Or reblog. It is so worth it. I’m so sad a little movie like this isn’t getting the big audience it deserves. Adrien Brody should be getting an Oscar tomorrow - and I’m not even a fan of his films.
